The exhibition can be visited during the winter holidays from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 12:00 to 20:00 hs. at the Tecnópolis Headquarters.
The exhibition presents works from different series made at different times in which the artist investigates various concerns that revolve around astronomy and science, literature and science fiction film, the history of the conquest of space as well as the idea of time travel. The aim is to create a fiction, a new narrative constructed through the relationships that arise between the different works and series.
Galáctica is a project that seeks to think of new ways of interacting with light and time. This search for mental landscapes and sci-fi scenarios is related to the investigation of light emitted by different astronomical phenomena and the time it takes for that light to reach us. The photographs were taken at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility in Houston, Texas. This work was done within the context and thanks to the Mapping Exchange Residency, Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art, Austin, Texas, U.S.A. and the Nexar Project of Argentina.
Planet Stories explores the imaginary of science fiction novels and the representation of different scientific theories, such as the future possibility of traveling in time and space. The history of the conquest of space, the construction of the figure of the astronaut as a hero of the twentieth century, the metaphor of the search for outer space as an escape from reality are some of the issues that appear in this work. The works made in Fujifilm Instax instant format (Polaroid type) and their cross with the images compiled from the Internet, emphasize the fictional representation of a space traveler: past, present and future create a fiction in different temporalities forcing the limit of the real. Places dreamed of and almost not explored or experienced by the common man but portrayed by different expeditions and probes of the most advanced technology of each era are the excuse to portray, above all, the journey that the images make between us, to or from us.
The Perfect Crystal is a long-term research project (2010-2025) that proposes the realization of crystals from a dissolution of various substances derived from salt in distilled water. The aim of this project is to produce large crystals by simulating the geological processes that originated the formation of crystals over millions of years and at the same time proposes a fiction in which the crystals obtained appear as mysterious elements.
Moonlight is an investigation that began in the summer of 2014, at the San Martín – Móvil residence, in San Martín de los Andes, Argentina. During the stay I dedicated myself to observe and study stars and celestial bodies through a telescope. From these observations arises this series of photographs that were taken using different pinhole cameras that have been specially constructed to capture the transit of the moon and the movement of the earth during the course of full moon nights. The luminosity of the sun reflected by the moon and the rotation of the earth and the movement of the moon are captured directly by the paper.
